Shakespeare and his ensemble might have had only one rehearsal before the first performance of every play. Brevity is the soul of wit.
60 Hour Shakespeare® was created by Gavin Leigh and auditions held at The Scoop, in London, late last year. Much Ado About Nothing is directed by Gavin Leigh and Charlotte Cline.
It's 1908. Theseus is ready to marry Hippolyta, but his revels are interrupted by Egeus asking the Duke to intervene in his daughter, Hermia’s, hand in marriage to Demetrius. Hermia is in love with Lysander and would die before she married Demetrius. Hermia and Lysander tell Helena that they will run away to the wood and they are soon followed by Demetrius and Helena. Titania and Oberon, the Queen and King of the fairies and his hobgoblin, Puck, cause all hell to break loose in the wood for the lovers and a group of actors who are rehearsing for the revels.
