International cast of 'Othello' support children in need and feature on BBC Radio

60 Hour Shakespeare® presents 'Othello' rehearsed and performed in three days of open rehearsals at Reading Abbey Ruins to raise funds for Alexander Devine Children's Hospice Service. Othello will be played by Nettie Chickering of NYC's The Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre: Home of the Meisner Technique.

The Shakespeare Theatrical Universe turns the original theatre practice of 60 Hour Shakespeare® inside out. Shakespeare wrote in parts and those parts, or cue scripts, told stories outside of the plays of which they are now a part. This year, the multiverse of Ophelia and Mercutio came to Reading Abbey Ruins with New Beginnings for the characters and the homeless.

Talented actor/singer Nettie Chickering is proving she is no April Fool as Feste in this ground-breaking production of Twelfth Night. Taking her inspiration from the likes of Josephine Baker and Ella Fitzgerald, she swings and sways to some darn hot bluesy jazz notes in 60 Hour Shakespeare’s reimagining of Illyria as Upper West Side Manhattan in 1919.
